Mastering a Minimalist Style: Back to Basics

In the world of style, you see trends come and go each season, but the one look that is here to stay is the very simple, yet chic, minimalist look. Growing up, I would look at the way off duty models dressed when they weren’t walking down the runways and swooned over how they looked so effortlessly chic. Or how much I admired women who could demand all of attention in a room with just a pair of good denim, a T-shirt and classic pumps.

There’s definitely an art to keeping it simple.

My favorite thing about this look are definitely these beauties on my feet. They fancy up any outfit and you will probably be seeing them a lot this Summer in my photos 🙂 Hunter green is my favorite color although I wear mostly black. I am getting better these days with wearing color.

To be completely honest, sometimes we simply do too much. It’s so easy to overdo and over think things when it comes to putting together a look. I personally find that some of my most complimented outfits come from not trying, at all.

You don’t need to be over the top to make a statement. Investing in a few key pieces, plus bold accessories from earrings, to rings, necklaces, your bag and confidence is all you need.

You can be a minimalist and still look and feel fly. Even if I do choose to be extra some days .. I will always feel my very best in a nice white tee, good denim, and a great jacket. It may sound cliche, but your confidence will always add levels to your look. So, work on that first.

We all love a good trend. However, there’s honestly nothing more special than one who can let their own personal style flow through any trend that presents itself each season. There’s no need to associate the word “basic” with negativity. Details and simplicity will always give me life.
