The Plaid Skirt

Now, I don’t wear skirts very often, but when I do, it’s usually a pencil skirt.. something fitted for the most part. I have a petite frame so, clothing with too much fabric can have me looking like a six year old playing dress up in clothing waaayyy too big for me. So, this plaid trend is back and there are so many different styles, pleated, calf length, mini, long, asymmetrical … plenty to choose from! And all different price ranges, too. You do not need to break the bank to for this.

How a plaid skirt can be worn …

It can be combined with a simple white t-shirt, or really any basic, over-sized chunky knit sweater, pair of boots, worn white sneakers or comfy slides. Easily a look that can be edgy, sophisticated or funky. All depending on how you’re feeling that day!

The skirt I am wearing is from H&M, top from Zara (seen here) and they’re both no longer available on the websites, unfortunately. Both from earlier this year.

We can all remix what was once just a ‘school girl’ style. The end result is a chic trendy, yet timeless look anyone can pull off.
